Maya has always had an eye for style and a head for business, but the airing of her own wedding on the Food Television Network was the genesis of her next business move. Combining her marketing, communications and design talents, along with her budding notoriety in the event planning space, Maya launched SWANK Productions in 2001, "I had always thought about starting a company, and after the Food TV appearance, the timing was right and I took the leap."
